Walking Off Pounds
There are many different ways that you can lose weight, but in my opinion the most effective way to lose weight and to keep it off is walking. Yes, you need to get moving. Walking is by far the easiest and the most effective way to lose weight. Walking at a moderate pace for at least 30 minutes burns stored fat and can build muscle to speed up your metabolism. Walking an hour a day has also been associated with cutting your risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes as well as lowering high blood pressure.

Obesity is a huge problem that our country faces. At some point most of us struggle with our weight. This is one of the most battled health issues that lead to many other health problems. Our state has been named one of the "fattest states" in the nation; this is not a title we want to continue to wear. As a Mississippian, I would love to see this state become the "healthiest state" in the nation.
One person alone cannot fight this illness, but if we all join together we can definitely overcome this problem that our country faces.
Motivational Weight Loss
Staying motivated is the hardest part of controlling your weight. One method that I found to be effective is motivational weight loss. This is one method that may help you stay motivated in achieving your goal of a healthier, toner or just a better looking you. This is somewhat of an unusual method. It allows you to stay motivated by thinking about how your health would affect your family. If you were at a point where your health prevented you from being a good spouse or parent, how would you feel? The answer would probably be pretty bad. If you were to pass away due to poor health or poor health habits; how do you think your family would feel? Probably devastated by the loss? You may think that your spouse and children are strong enough to handle this devastating loss, not realizing that you may be the link that holds your family together. Without you, your spouse may not be able to handle the responsibility of raising your children. The same goes for your children. They may not be able to focus or even function at all. Loving someone is a very powerful bond and when the bond is broken, sometimes the heart is too. Sometimes it's hard to overcome and bounce back from that kind of loss. These are very emotional thoughts that may help you understand how truly blessed you are to have people that love you and how much you make a difference in their lives. Because obesity is a known health issues that leads to many other health problems, you should take more preventive measures and learn more about preventive care and staying healthy by controlling your weight. We have to understand that our health affects more than just us. As a parent, your children depend on you to make wise decisions concerning your health and the same for spouses. By taking control of this problem, you not only help yourself, but you motivate your family and others.
